On Monday, April 8, 2024 North America experienced a total solar eclipse crossing over parts of Mexico, the United States, and Canada. A total solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the Sun. Buffalo, New York was one of the lucky few places to experience totality! The temperature of the air dropped significantly and it was completely dark for roughly 3-4 minutes.

The next total solar eclipse will take place on August 12, 2026 and will be visible in Greenland, Iceland, Spain, Russia, and a small area of Portugal, while a partial eclipse will be visible in Europe, Africa, North America, the Atlantic Ocean, Arctic Ocean, and Pacific Ocean.
